A princess drops her golden ball into a deep well. A frog brings it back, but only if she promises to be his friend.

Kapitel 1: Die goldene Kugel
Es war einmal ein König, der eine sehr schöne jüngste Tochter hatte.Once upon a time there was a king who had a very beautiful youngest daughter.
Ihr liebstes Spielzeug war eine goldene Kugel.Her favourite toy was a golden ball.
An heißen Tagen spielte sie damit an einem alten Brunnen im Wald.On hot days she played with it by an old well in the forest.
Eines Tages fiel die Kugel ins Wasser und verschwand in der Tiefe.One day the ball fell into the water and disappeared into the depths.
Die Prinzessin fing an zu weinen, immer lauter.The princess began to cry, louder and louder.
„Was ist los, Königstochter?“, fragte plötzlich eine Stimme.“What's the matter, princess?” a voice suddenly asked.
Es war ein Frosch, der seinen dicken Kopf aus dem Wasser streckte.It was a frog, sticking his fat head out of the water.
„Ich hole dir die Kugel, wenn ich dein Freund sein und von deinem Teller essen darf.““I'll get the ball for you if I may be your friend and eat from your plate.”
Die Prinzessin versprach alles, aber sie dachte: „Ein Frosch kann doch nicht mein Freund sein.“The princess promised everything, but she thought: “A frog can't be my friend.”
Als der Frosch ihr die Kugel brachte, lief sie damit schnell nach Hause.When the frog brought her the ball, she ran home with it quickly.
