A princess drops her golden ball into a deep well. A frog brings it back, but only if she promises to be his friend.

Kapitel 1: Die goldene Kugel
Es war einmal eine Prinzessin.Once upon a time there was a princess.
Sie hat eine goldene Kugel.She has a golden ball.
Sie spielt jeden Tag mit der Kugel im Wald.She plays with the ball in the forest every day.
Im Wald ist ein alter Brunnen.There is an old well in the forest.
Eines Tages fällt die Kugel in den Brunnen.One day the ball falls into the well.
Der Brunnen ist sehr tief.The well is very deep.
Die Prinzessin weint.The princess cries.
Da kommt ein Frosch.Then a frog comes.
„Ich hole die Kugel“, sagt er. „Aber dann bin ich dein Freund.““I'll get the ball,” he says. “But then I'm your friend.”
„Ja, ja!“, sagt die Prinzessin.“Yes, yes!” says the princess.
Der Frosch holt die Kugel, aber die Prinzessin läuft schnell nach Hause.The frog gets the ball, but the princess runs home quickly.
