Es war einmal ein kleines Mädchen.Once upon a time there was a little girl.
Sie hat keine Mutter und keinen Vater mehr.She has no mother and no father any more.
Sie hat kein Haus und kein Bett.She has no house and no bed.
Sie hat nur ihre Kleider und ein Stück Brot.She has only her clothes and a piece of bread.
Sie geht allein in die Welt.She goes out into the world alone.
Da kommt ein alter Mann.Then an old man comes.
„Ich habe so großen Hunger“, sagt er.“I'm so hungry,” he says.
Das Mädchen gibt ihm ihr Brot.The girl gives him her bread.
Dann kommt ein Kind. „Mir ist so kalt am Kopf!“Then a child comes. “My head is so cold!”
Das Mädchen gibt ihm ihre Mütze.The girl gives it her cap.
Später gibt sie einem anderen Kind ihre Jacke und dann ihr Kleid.Later she gives another child her jacket and then her dress.
